Things We Hide from the Light by Lucy Score is the second book in the Knockemout series, which continues the tale of police chief Nash, and Lena – a new resident in the town. It is desired to alter something in favor of the poor and, at the same time, attempt to alter himself for the better. In the same way, Lena comes wanting something new, with her own problems and aggression, which entail the same threat to Nash’s newly ‘gained’ identity and need for a savior.

One of the novels depicts love ‘love and thriller. When the two characters share physical aspects, the characters’ defects and the issues, the loyalty tests emerge. This novel raises the issue of overcoming the issue of humility and facing one’s history. By making the main characters their representatives and using a lot of easygoing and sometimes even vulgar dialogues, the plot successfully demonstrates the atmosphere and the life of those people and, at the same time, reveals the intertwining of important inner ideas. Just like any other couple, they discover that even if all kinds of things are brought against a couple, love is always the strongest force that will overcome all the odds.
