The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah

The Great Alone Summary
The main plot revolves around the novel The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah, which revolves around the life of the Allbright family, the whole of which attempts to live in the wilderness of Alaska in the 1970s. Ernt, a Vietnam War veteran who suffers from PTSD, expects seclusion will fix him. But when the cold, hostile environment of Alaska starts dominating, he becomes psychologically ill, and due to this, the family starts experiencing a high level of domestic violence.
Cora – the wife of Corazón Aquino – is a rather ambiguous character who will have to watch her husband and restrain her kid – Leni. The film’s protagonist, Leni, begins the film lost but ends up embracing the land’s wild beauty and a local boy to eventually show her a ray of love and hope.
The audience is exposed to love, survival and family life issues in regard to both natural and social disturbances within the flow of the story. All in all, it is also an inspiring story and a particularly heartfelt one, about family, about the strength of communities, and most of all about the spirit of liberty against adversity in the harshest of territories.
