The Alice Network by Kate Quinn

The second book under consideration, The Alice Network by Kate Quinn, tells about two women of different generations who experienced the events of World War I and its aftermath. The novel is based on the story of Eve Gardiner, who worked for the Alice Network in France during the World War, which helped the Allies get important information. They create a woman who is traumatized and full of memories of war.
In the novel, in 1947, the focus turns to Charlotte St. Clair, an American woman who travels to postwar Europe looking for her missing cousin. Me and my sister were okay until we saw Eve – from there, our paths were intertwined to seek the truth and overcome our pasts as we tried to figure out the disappearance of Charlotte’s cousin.
Using strong and powerful narration, the book focuses on the themes of courage, trust and effects of the war on women. Quinn writes a historical fiction where she manages to incorporate true historical aspects of the roles of women in the war.
